Seventh Lunar Month

Just found out from a friend that today (16th August 2010) is 七月初七。 For those who are still unaware, the Chinese Valentine's Day falls on the seventh day of the seventh month on the Chinese lunar calendar. So here's to wishing everyone a Happy Chinese Lunar Valentine's Day! :)

One laughable sad thing is that I am still feeling unwell, on this day. -_-||

Even after seeing the doctor, taking medicines, paying extra attention to what I eat, drinking more water, consuming more vitamins and fruits, BUT I am still sick. :(

Honestly, this month has been freaking strange so far. I don't know about you, but somehow it just doesn't feel that much of the same as other months. Hmm... Don't know why or how to put it. But the thing is, we all have to acknowledge the fact that this month is what the Chinese would say - Ghost Month. *scaryyy*

According to Chinese tradition, the 7th month in the Chinese lunar calendar is called the Ghost Month in which ghosts and spirits are believed to come out from hell to visit earth. At this time believers pray and give offerings to the spirits of deceased relatives and friends in hope for good luck and fortunes. Just imagine countless souls returning to earth for one month each year, WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE?!! O_O"

And as the Chinese people would say, it is best advised not to go out so often during the seventh month, and also try to avoid outings at night time. =X

Believe it or not. It's up to you.

Anyhow, I would advice with one sentence "宁可信其有,不可信其无。。" (ning ho sun kei yao, bat hor sun kei mou)

Just be extra careful in whatever you do and wherever you go during this month kays. ;)
